When I was in NYC recently, Praveen Sharma (from the mighty www.percussionlab.com) gave me a sneak preview of some tracks he was working on with Machinedrum. The vibe was deep, building on the mutations 2step has enjoyed since the turn of the century and going into a direction they were (tongue in cheek) naming 'lovestep'. Full of lush, warm melodies, sub and a fair few diva vocals they have snatched from second hand house records if I remember well, the tracks left me intrigued and wanting more to say the least. As luck would have it the guys have started to release bits into the net and so I just want to spread some love for what is likely the 'next step' as Machinedrum joked on facebook. If you like FaltyDL's own take on what started as quintessentially London sound but is now more worldwide than ever than you will no doubt like this a whole lot. I personally cannot wait for more.
